In this part I'll cover things like combat tracker grids. Here is my template if you want it: [https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1xRl_7i5yFJi0HrBwZxVX-vGtZzJqkQYyqL_wDT9xG8Q/edit?usp=sharing](https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1xRl_7i5yFJi0HrBwZxVX-vGtZzJqkQYyqL_wDT9xG8Q/edit?usp=sharing) # Combat Tracker Grids Combat tracker grids are really useful during combat so that everyone knows what everyone else is doing. I like using one grid per row because it makes it easier when you need multiple rows per character. I'm going through my template sheet by sheet so if you want you can use my template as reference as you go through this. I've used named ranges because I think they make things easier. I used conditional formatting so that when something happens it changes colour. Here is my sheet: ![Combat Tracker Grids Sheet]({{site.baseurl}}{% link /assets/images/DnD Character Sheet Part Two.png %}) In Google Sheets I went into Format > Named Ranges... ![Named Ranges]({{site.baseurl}}{% link /assets/images/DnD Character Sheet Part Two (1).png %}) Then I named my ranges: ![Named Ranges Example]({{site.baseurl}}{% link /assets/images/DnD Character Sheet Part Two (2).png %}) Now if I wanted I could refer back to those named ranges later. For example if I wanted one range plus another range I could just say `=SUM(CombatTrackerRange1:CCombatTrackerRange4)` instead of having all those numbers. Next I went into Conditional Formatting... ![Conditional Formatting]({{site.baseurl}}{% link /assets/images/DnD Character Sheet Part Two (3).png %}) I used three different colour rules: **Red** First hit point reduction ![First Hit Point Reduction]({{site.baseurl}}{% link /assets/images/DnD Character Sheet Part Two (4).png %}) **Orange** Any hit point reduction ![Any Hit Point Reduction]({{site.baseurl}}{% link /assets/images/DnD Character Sheet Part Two (5).png %}) **Yellow** Armor Class reduction ![Armor Class Reduction]({{site.baseurl}}{% link /assets/images/DnD Character Sheet Part Two (6).png %}) Then I wanted something that would tell me how many turns had passed since something happened so I went into Conditional Formatting again... ![Turn Counter]({{site.baseurl}}{% link /assets/images/DnD Character Sheet Part Two (7).png %}) And added this rule: ![Turn Counter Rule]({{site.baseurl}}{% link /assets/images/DnD Character Sheet Part Two (8).png %}) So if more than one turn has passed since something happened then it changes colour. Then I wanted something that would show me what was happening on each turn so I added these rules: **Green** Any action taken ![Any Action Taken]({{site.baseurl}}{% link /assets/images/DnD Character Sheet Part Two (9).png %}) **Purple** Anything else ![Anything Else]({{site.baseurl}}{% link /assets/images/DnD Character Sheet Part Two (10).png %}) The reason why there is no blue rule is because blue is used for dice rolls. Now if you look at my sheet then everything should make sense: ![Combat Tracker Grids Example]({{site.baseurl}}{% link /assets/images/DnD Character Sheet Part Two (11).png %}) # Spell Slots Grids Spell slots grids are useful during combat so that everyone knows how many spell slots they have left. They also make it easier if someone wants more than one row per character because you don't need multiple copies per character. I'm going through my template sheet by sheet so if you want you can use my template as reference as you go through this. I've used named ranges because I think they make things easier. I used conditional formatting so that when something happens it changes colour. For example if I wanted one range plus another range I could just say `=SUM(SpellSlotsRange1:DSpellSlotsRange5)` instead of having all those
